It’s been some time since I wrote to you within my mail community - 2024 was another year of being in the motherhood trenches whilst also being self-employed. First of all, I want to say that I’ve moved over to here on Substack because I love what the platform stands for - creators and writers maintaining their rights for their own content. I love the ease of use of it too from a writing perspective. As a reader myself in this space, I am a fan of the ‘fresh air’ that is coming to the app to read inspiring content instead of the doom/gloom of the news and the comparison city of social media. If you are new to the platform, I hope you enjoy the introduction. I also hope you continue to be part of my community here in this space however, if you find that you don’t look forward to receiving my emails/what I have to share here in this space, then no hard feelings if you unsubscribe. You have choice and control over what you consume and read too.

I’ve never been “good” at keeping my writing to ‘short and snappy’ and so, I now embrace that in fact, I love writing and sharing whilst building a sense of community. It’s why I have developed my Survivor Circle concept further in 2024 and unexpectedly, The Survivor Sanctuary was born. Primarily, it is a monthly membership held on Telegram where I hold monthly Healing Themes with many other benefits (I will share more about this in the coming weeks). I’ve loved creating a group space seeing genuine connections grow whilst also bearing witness to individual growth and healing. I’ve always valued making my work accessible, I think it comes back to my own money story growing up (where money was scarce) and so, this has got me thinking about how I can make my work accessible financially but also various formats to suit individual preferences.

So, I want to tell you about a few ways moving forward how you can access my work/support.

  • Substack paid subscription (this is where I will share my written content on the Healing Themes for those that like self-paced, written formats. Coming soon.

  • Join my Survivor Sanctuary monthly membership (3 month commitment). Wait list open for the next group - I keep groups to 3-5 max to be able to build safe trusting connections. I’ll share more in the coming weeks of what is included.

  • Two week Telegram group Journey - I am beginning the first one on Monday (27th January - 9th February) with the Healing Theme of Safety. I’ll be closing the group on Sunday so reach out if you want to join us. More details below.

  • 1:1 Two week Telegram Journey - you can choose when to begin the 2 weeks and it includes the written PDF guide on the theme.

  • If Telegram isn’t for you, I have a 1:1 call on Zoom which also includes the written PDF guide and meditation audio created for the theme.

  • I continue to offer 1:1 coaching and/or mentoring for those that want ongoing support. I am so grateful for those who have trusted me to guide them the last few years. It is an honour to witness your growth and healing.

Telegram Group 2 week Journey (Safety)

I want to focus on the details of the Telegram group journey beginning next week as it is time sensitive. I have made it as accessible as possible - even including a ‘pay what you can’ option if £35 is outside of your reach right now. I am starting in January 2025 with sharing Healing Themes for survivors (I prefer warriors) of sexual trauma and I aim to share themes throughout the year. Because I want to help fellow survivors move from survival to revival; truly living. I once believed that it was impossible to feel inner peace because of the trauma I experienced. Now, I do feel inner peace and want to share hope with others (you) too.

Safety…focusing on safety is the cornerstone of healing after sexual trauma because there’s no surprise that trauma fundamentally disrupts our sense of safety—both internally and externally. When we experience sexual trauma, our nervous system and brain shift into survival mode, often leaving us feeling hypervigilant, disconnected, or unable to trust ourselves and others.

Healing requires rebuilding this foundation of safety so the body and mind can begin to relax, regulate, and process what has happened. Without a sense of safety, healing can feel overwhelming or even impossible, as the nervous system remains in a state of alertness, unable to fully engage in recovery.

I’ve created this 2-week journey to be a gentle and supportive space to explore safety in practical and nurturing ways, to

Reconnect with what you need: By cultivating inner safety, such as self-compassion and emotional regulation, you rebuild trust in yourself and your ability to navigate life.

Strengthen External Boundaries: Understanding and creating safe environments and relationships provide the stability needed to heal.

Nervous System Regulation: Tools like grounding, mindfulness, and personalised safety strategies allow your nervous system to shift out of survival mode.

Connect with others who get it: Connection with a supportive guide (or group) reminds you that healing isn’t something you have to do in isolation. And I don’t want you to.

This journey is a gentle yet powerful starting point or reset in your healing process, offering tools and insights that are essential for taking the next steps forward. Safety is not just a healing goal—it’s the foundation that makes all other aspects of healing possible. It’s how I want us to begin a new year of supporting new growth and healing.

From Monday, I’ll share audio reflections, a guided meditation, and practical resources to support you in building safety step by step. You can listen to the bite sized audios when suits you in the day and you will have a space to ask any questions. This is both self paced and guided with the element of connection with others. The audio in this letter is an introduction to the theme of Safety.

As I have done previously, I want to share more personal insights because it is private unlike social media. My intention is to be more present in this space. I’ve been quietly bumbling along in the background for the last year because I just didn't have the capacity for being visible on social media.
